improve/advance a player's skill in a specific area. Our in-depth clinics:
- Fully educates the player in
the specific skill area. This understanding leads to mastery.
- Allow the player to walk
away with immediate working knowledge of what needs to be done in order to improve and
advance.

understanding that all players have different interest, abilities, personalities;
therefore, they don't all learn the same way.

2013 Jim Watson Hockey Camp

Jim Watson Hockey Camp presented by IceWorks Skating Complex is
designed to develop today’s young hockey player in a
challenging, but fun, environment. On-ice sessions will be
separated by age group to assure skill-specific instruction.
Individual player weaknesses will be pinpointed and addressed with
a healthy dose of positive reinforcement. Every player who attends
will receive a Jim Watson Hockey Camp jersey.

This clinic is designed for the basic beginner
who is new to ice hockey. The student will be given drills to learn how to skate and
develop basic hockey skills. FULL EQUIPMENT IS REQUIRED.

the fundamentals of Basic Hockey skating.
Starts, stops, forward and backward skating, turns and transitions.
(No pucks) This is a requirement for
advancing to Learn to Play Hockey. Completing the
elements of these levels will prepare every beginning hockey skater
for his/her next step in learning to play hockey.

skating, stickhandling and shooting. This clinic is for
beginners who wish to learn the proper basics necessary to
excel in the sport of hockey. Participants in this clinic
should already have taken the
Learn To Skate Course
and passed the Level II section of this program to benefit
from this clinic. Open to all age groups.( 1 Hour of skating
and 30 minutes of controlled scrimmaging)

Our PowerSkating clinic teaches the proper use
of edges and skating technique. The clinic also teaches strength and agility, in
particular lower body and leg power. The participant will learn backward skating as well

advanced players. Our stickhandling and shooting sessions will help improve eye-hand
coordination and the rolling movements of the wrist. The focus will be on the proper

This clinic will help you develop better
proficiency in your skating and better coordination for
stick-handling. You will improve not only your skating ability but
also your knowledge and understanding of skating and stick-handling
mechanics. Take your individual hockey skills to the next level.
Coach Donna Helgenberg’s skating career started
in 1968. Through ice hockey, inline speed skating, and figure
skating, she has accumulated more than 43 years of combined skating,
training, teaching, and coaching experience. Her strength is the
ability to break down the mechanics of skating and stick-handling in
a way people of all levels can understand and develop. Donna has
held the position of Head Varsity Coach for Conestoga HS, Head Power
Skating Coach for the Jaguars of NJ, and Skating Director for the
University of Penn. Currently she works with skaters and teams all
over NJ, PA, DE, and beyond, to improve their hockey skills.
