Those five "F" words describe
Uschi Keszler's philosophy for Iceworks figure skaters and emphasize a complete training
process she has launched at IceWorks.
"I am very proud of the showing
our kids from IceWorks have made. In a short time, they have become very
recognizable", she says.
But with the growing success of our
skaters, we are also becoming aware of the rash of injuries that have occurred in U.S.
Elite skaters across the country this year. In an effort to help prevent any such a trend
at IceWorks, a regimen of on and off-ice training sessions has begun.
The Academy program that IceWorks offers is
evaluated monthly in order to keep up with changing needs of the skaters. It is a total
skating education program involving a staff of gifted coaches with a variety of expertise
in different elements of skating and conditioning.
Academy group classes that are presently available include
Hydroblading®, Stroking, off-Ice Fitness / Strength Conditioning, Body Awareness -
Dance Movement , Pairs and Off-Ice Pairs and are described below
Hydroblading®
A comprehensive training program
in the philosophical, psychological and physical basis of gliding movement and motion
developed and headed by Uschi Keszler, World and Olympic coach and choreographer. It is a
never-ending journey of discovering ice and space.
